The process we follow through all our financial planning follows a structure of an initial fact finding meeting, advice, and an on-going relationship.
An initial meeting with Austen Birkett Financial Planning can take place free of charge and without obligation. This meeting will last about an hour, usually during office hours, either at our premises in the Lace Market area of Nottingham or at your home or office. In accordance with our normal practice, information disclosed in this meeting will remain confidential. In order for you to get the most out of this meeting we suggest that you have available the following:
- Details of all your existing policies. If you have many policies, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork. One of our first objectives is to make your policy documents more manageable.
- The ABFP Initial Enquiry Form, completed as fully as possible. You can download a copy of this by clicking Initial Enquiry Form or by contacting us to receive a copy by post.
- Identification. If we both decide we would like to work together, we are required by law to obtain proof of identity before we act for a client. We require your passport or driving licence and a utility or Council Tax bill (dated within the last three months).
- Prepared questions. This can be helpful to avoid forgetting any important issues.
If we decide to work together then we will devise a plan to address your financial objectives. You will receive a report discussing your current situation, your attitude to risk, our advice and reasons why we have recommended a particular course of action. If we recommend any products, these will have been chosen from the whole of the market. Costs will be clearly explained before you agree to implement any part of the plan.
Implementing our advice is hopefully the start of an on-going relationship. We offer comprehensive updates and analysis on investment portfolios to clients who request this service. We encourage clients to contact us if they want to discuss any topical issues they may have read about. However, we aim to keep you informed of any financial developments we feel relevant to you. Striking up a dialogue ensures we get to know our clients and give best advice as they go through life.
If you feel you would like help with your financial planning, please contact us and we can discuss your requirements.
